A new interactive installation presented in Vilnius – children’s drawings come to life on a digital city map

On August 20, 2025, the Wooden Architecture Centre launched a unique exhibition “Living City,” where visitors can experience our team’s latest interactive project. This is a one-of-a-kind installation that combines children’s drawing and coloring skills with digital technologies and augmented reality elements.

The new system works very simply but delivers an impressive result: a child colors a special drawing, places it into a scanner, and within moments the drawing appears on a large digital map of Vilnius. The drawings become part of an interactive city visualization that is constantly enriched by visitors’ creativity.

Creativity and Education in One Experience

This project was created not only for entertainment but also for educational value. The installation encourages:

  • Children’s creativity and self-expression
  • Learning about Vilnius city’s urban planning and culture
  • Technological curiosity – how a physical drawing can instantly become a digital object visible in a projection

Our solution is based on the latest principles of interactive museum installations, which in 2025 are highly relevant both in educational centers and in contemporary exhibitions.

Digital Experience in a Modern Exhibition

The exhibition uses a projection screen where all scanned drawings appear in real time. This

technology allows children and adults to experience their creations transforming into part of the city’s collective image. The interactive map functions like a living organism – each new drawing becomes a “tile” that adds to the picture of Vilnius.

The project demonstrates how the latest technologies can be used to foster children’s creativity, strengthen their connection with the city, and create an unforgettable interactive experience. It is yet another step by our company in developing innovative installations for museums, educational centers, and exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.
