The exhibition installed in this visitor centre stands out for its uniqueness and the abundance of interactive installations used. The visitor space is designed by combining black elements with natural wood tones. Smallscale spot lighting adds a sense of mystery to the space and highlights the main design elements as well as the positions of interactive areas.

On the first floor, a decorative plywood wall reminiscent of sand dunes has been used. The space features a curved glass structure containing an installation of sandcovered villages. Integrated air blowers, when activated, simulate sand drifting – creating the effect of a sandstorm.

The space incorporates transparent glass technology screens (Transparent OLED), which reveal the formation of the Curonian Spit and changes in its landscape. Complex 3D animations have been created for these screens, presenting the specifics of the spit’s formation in an engaging way for visitors.

In the 1stfloor area, a crosssection model has been integrated, equipped with touch sensors. These activate animations that tell the story of human activities that have shaped the spit’s landscape during various historical periods.

The exhibition also offers the opportunity to explore the world of plankton using a microscope created specifically for this display. In the augmented reality installation, visitors can leaf through a book and discover the natural treasures of the spit.

One of the main installations in the exhibition is an impressive projection system installed across five separate planes, showcasing an artistic video clip of the spit. A 5.1 sound system ensures an immersive audio experience during the video presentation.

In the reading area, a Discovery Table with a touchsensitive surface has been installed, along with an information terminal where visitors can plan their own route for exploring the Curonian Spit.
