Technology and innovation undoubtedly change how we experience and perceive history. Using the Midjourney artificial intelligence (AI) image generation tool, our team has created unique historical portraits of Lithuanian women in traditional Baltic clothing. These portraits became the basis for innovative 3D holographic animation, which is currently displayed at the Rambynas Regional Park visitor center. In this way, we contribute to the activities of museums and visitor centers, providing new opportunities for conveying history.
Using AI and DI technologies, our created portraits come to life – they become interactive and dynamic. The images of historical portraits were used as photographs, onto which 3D Baltic jewelry was animated. This gives the portraits liveliness and allows viewers to better understand and feel the culture of the past.
This project is a great example of how AI-generated pictures and photos can be used to create cultural and educational content. Our goal is not only to present history in new and interesting ways but also to increase viewer engagement. By offering unique and innovative solutions, we can help museums and business organizations attract more visitors and clients.
Additionally, our project shows how AI-generated images can be used to create interactive exhibits. Interactive 3D animation gives visitors the opportunity to actively participate in the exhibition, increasing their engagement and interest in history. Such projects not only enrich the visitor experience but also help museums and visitor centers stand out from competitors.
It is important to mention that the created 3D holographic animation was combined with real (physical) exhibits that were placed in a holographic showcase. This allows visitors to engage even more in the exhibition and experience history in a new, modern way.
